This route runs from Kingsland Way generally north eastwards along Ashwell
Street to join Station Road opposite Ashwell 17 byway.
At the time of the BHS 2021 Access Survey (11 Sep 21), no gates were across the path and it was signposted at each end. The survey photographs are from Station Road towards Kingsland Way. |

Legal History 1 Nov 1953: Ashwell 16 was recorded as CRB (Carriage Road used as a Bridleway) on the original definitive map and statement. DM sheet DM4-07 (Herts 4 SW). 31 Dec 1977: Ashwell 16 was shown as a byway open to all traffic on the special review draft map and statement. DM sheet SR-06. 22 Mar 2022: HCC consult on a potential TRO to prohibit motor vehicles subject to permits and other exceptions. |
