Legal History 20 Jun 1953: The route was not recorded on the original definitive map and statement. 31 Dec 1977: Flamstead 53 was shown as a bridleway on the special review draft map and statement. Objections were received by the council and so it was removed, to be resolved later. The Hertfordshire County Council (Flamstead 53) Modification Order 1996 would have added this route to the definitive map and statement as a byway open to all trafic. It was not confirmed (25 Jun 1997) on the 'grounds' that the route was a county road. (PINS reference FPS/M1900/7/12.) 10 Apr 2017: Landowner makes a s.31 Highways Act 1980 deposit denying any highways not on the definitive map, including this one. Landowner invited to remake the deposit admitting the route, but no response was received. 13 Jul 2018: Application made to record route as byway open to all traffic. HCC reference DAC/159. |
