Patchetts Green Bridleways Trust
One of our major projects is the creation of a safe off-road riding route in Northaw, parallel to Coopers Lane Road, and linking other bridleways. This path was the first success in that project.

Landowner agreement Tenant agreement Phase 1 Funding HCC advise path number will be "Northaw 17". Awaiting completion of legal work. Read about progress on Phase 2.

9 Oct 21: This path will be closed for a few weeks between 1 Oct 21 and 1 Apr 22 for resurfacing work. The County Council will put notices on site for the period of the closure.
On the plan, Northaw 17 runs from A to C. The section A to B joins bridleway 14 to bridleway 10 and forms part of the Potters Bar Community Circuit, a planned circular ride, and B to C helps to keep riders off the busy Coopers Lane Road.

C to E to D is the Phase 2 extension which we're trying to gain next, and Phase 3 is the yellow route north of the M25, and a link parallel to the M25 to the west.

We need a volunteer to photograph this route for the 2021 Access and Riding Rights of Way Survey. It's easy - just take photographs (safely) when you use the path. Find out more!

BHS PGBT We raised the 1,250 to pay for the fencing from A to C. Thank you to everyone who contributed.

Hertfordshire County Council said in their receipt letter,

"Please pass my thanks onto everyone who contributed towards this fantastic amount. This money and the fencing it paid for, has been vital towards creating the new bridleway. Helping create this route now means that riders can avoid roughly 1 1/4 miles of busy Coopers Lane Road and link between bridleways 10 and 14 without having to use the road at all."

The Appeal was launched with the sending out of our year-end report in December 2014, and we reached the initial target in April 2015. If you think this is a good path and might use it, please consider making a donation to our next path appeal.

We thank those who have donated or pledged money to the appeal! We particularly thank those that completed signed and returned gift aid declarations as these enable us to claim money back from the tax man. If you value the work we do, why not register your support? With more supporters, we would have more influence with local authorities. Or just send a 5 donation by texting PATH00 5 to 70070.
