Map showing Shenley 17 and Ridge 37 bridleway
Annotated map reproduced courtesy of Googlemaps.
This route runs from London Road, Shenley, to Crossoaks Lane. Riders can continue along Crossoaks Lane to Ridge.

At the time of the BHS 2021/22 Access Survey (19 Dec 21), the route was well defined and easy to follow. Signate at the western end said 'No through road', but of course it is a through road for those on foot, horse or bicycle. There was a gate with a space to the side at the eastern end, and a council signpost at the very eastern end of Crossoaks Lane (public road).

BHS PGBT Mind the Gap
The legal records of highways showed a gap between the end of the then-recorded Crossoaks Lane in Ridge Parish and the bridleway in Shenley parish. If left as it was, there would have been a gap between the bridleway and Crossoaks Lane when Path Extinguishment Day is reached on 1 January 2026. Following our Secretary's application, the gap was filled and now this route is no longer under threat.
