The route starts as Letchworth 22 from Letchworth 21 and continues eastwards over the A1(M) bridge, becoming Baldock 40 and continuing eastwards to Coachmans Lane (public road). It is part of the Letchworth Greenway. At the time of the 2023 Access Survey (26 Feb 23), the path was unobstructed and easy to use. It was signposted at the eastern end, but the finger on the fingerpost was missing at the westerne end.

Legal History This route is part of the Letchworth Greenway, open to horse riders, but is only recorded as footpaths Baldock 40 and Letchworth 22 (part).

Width: Minimum 3m between eastern side of bridge over A1(M) and junction with Hopewell Road. Limitations:None Path: [Letchworth] 22.  Recorded Status: Footpath.  Definitive Map sheet: 12 Commences from end of Works Road thence NE to parish boundary thence along same past FP8 (Baldock) to W boundary of A1(M) thence N along same thence E across footbridge over A1(M) to join Baldock FP40. (Part also scheduled as FP7 Baldock). Limitations: None.
