Legal History 1843: Bengeo Rural 8 is shown on the Bengeo tithe map coloured ochre (same as Bengeo Rural 2 BW to the south). 1922: OS County Series Map, sheet Hertfordshire 29 NE labels path 'B.R.'. 2 Feb 1953: Bengeo Rural 8 was recorded as a footpath on the original definitive map and statement. Definitive Statement (4 Dec 2015) Path: [Bengeo Rural] 8.  Recorded Status: Footpath.  Definitive Map sheet: 45 Commences at junction with county road W of Stoneyhills thence S to junction with BR2 at NE corner of Upper Stoneyhills Wood. Maintainability This route is maintainable at the public expense because it was a footpath or bridleway existing before 30 Apr 1959.
