British Horse Society access officer, Peter Natt, appplied for this path to be recorded in 1997.
After waiting twenty years for the application to be processed, he applied to the Secretary of State for a direction that the county council move the application to the top of its queue, which duly happened.
The County Council agreed with the application in 2020 and made an order to record the path in 2022 which was confirmed as an unopposed order.
This is a good example of 'perfectly obvious paths' that would be extinguished by the Countryside and Rights of Way Act 2000 had an application not been made. | ||||
