As part of the British Horse Society's work to record paths before Path Extinguishment Day, it was spotted that part Old Fishery Lane had not been stopped up, but had vanished from the county council's List of Streets. The historical evidence showed a continuous route, so an application was made in 2017 to record the linking piece.

Legal History 22 Apr 1999: The Borough of Dacorum (Old Fishery Lane, Boxmoor, Hemel Hempstead) (Prohibition of Driving and Prohibition of Waiting) Order 1999 prohibits motor vehicles form proceeding along the application route. 11 Dec 2017: Application to record a restricted byway.
