The Much Hadham Parish Council has adopted Neighbourhood Development Plan, which counts as part of the Local Development Plan when planning applications are considered.
The Plan includes:
- Village Aim 'E': Footpaths, cycle routes and bridleways will be retained, extended and connected whenever possible.
- Objective 9: Ensure footpaths, cycle routes and bridleways are protected, interconnected and extended where possible.
- (text) Proposals for new development will be required to take advantage of opportunities to make appropriate connections to existing footpaths, cycle paths, rights of way and bridleways to improve connectivity between and within settlements.
- Policy MH ITC1: Transport (III)
Where new development is planned, consideration should be given to the opportunity to create new permanent rights of way and green space that enable active travel modes.
- Policy MH CFLR1: Unclassified Roads
Proposals for development must respect the tranquil nature of unclassified roads and
not adversely affect their ability to continue to function safely as routes for walking,
cycling and horse-riding.
- Map: "Circles indicate where a bridleway (marked in green) ends at a public highway,
presenting safety concerns. The red number in the circle is the bridleway number.
As discussed in Ch.12 Community Facilities, Leisure and Recreation, greater off-road
connectivity between these points and/or more road safety measures would improve
these routes."
