Legal History 1839: Stapleford 3 was shown coloured ochre on the Stapleford tithe map and free from apportionment.

Definitive Statement (4 Dec 2015) Path: [Stapleford] 3.  Recorded Status: Footpath.  Definitive Map sheet: 45 Commences at junction with county road W of St Mary's Church thence S past same to river bank thence S along the E river bank to junction with county road N of Bullsmill. Maintainability This route is maintainable at the public expense because it was a footpath or bridleway existing before 30 Apr 1959.
